Jimmy Garoppolo ist ein Quarterback der Los Angeles Rams in der National Football League.
Jimmy Garoppolo wurde 2014 von den New England Patriots in der zweiten Runde des NFL Drafts ausgewählt. Er spielte College-Football an der Eastern Illinois University. Nach Jahren als Backup hinter Tom Brady wurde er 2017 zu den San Francisco 49ers getradet, wo er als Starter reüssierte und die Franchise umbaute. Mit den 49ers erreichte er den Super Bowl LIV gegen die Kansas City Chiefs. Jimmy Garoppolo began his football journey at Rolling Meadows High School. He then attended Eastern Illinois University from 2010 to 2013. He achieved success, winning the Walter Payton Award in his final year. The New England Patriots drafted Garoppolo in the second round in 2014. He served as Tom Brady’s backup for four seasons, winning two Super Bowls.
Garoppolo was traded to the San Francisco 49ers in 2017. He quickly became a starter and led the team to a 5-0 record to finish the season. In 2019, he guided the 49ers to the NFC Championship and a Super Bowl LIV appearance. Injuries hampered his time in San Francisco, causing him to miss significant playing time.
After the 2022 season, Garoppolo signed with the Las Vegas Raiders for one year. He currently plays for the Los Angeles Rams, joining the team in 2024. His career passing stats include 15,828 yards, 96 touchdowns and a 97.6 passer rating.
